Importance of Vaccination
Protecting the human body from infectious diseases by taking vaccine is called as Immunization. Our body prepares to fight against various diseases when we are immunized. The new born babies have natural immunity from their mother and when they are fed with breast milk. But slowly the natural immunity starts to vanish as the baby’s immune system develops. So, for extra protection each and every kid is needed to be vaccinated as per the doctor schedule.
When the baby is 1 ½ months old, it’s the right time to start vaccination. Till 10 years the vaccination schedule tells you when to give the appropriate vaccine. The baby should not be denied from vaccinations; even if you take late it is better than avoiding it completely.
Few babies have side effects after a vaccination, like they may feel the pain at the injected area or some may even develop fever. In this case an intake of paracetamol can bring down the fever. After your baby is vaccinated with measles injection, small rashes or scar may appear, these are quiet normal. Only if there is high fever or if the baby loses consciousness you need to consult the doctor immediately and proceed with the treatment.
